Anger & Anger management

Anger is a sign something is wrong. It’s also a bridge—the body’s way of unlocking energy we need to make change.

Bridges are made to be crossed, not occupied. But sometimes we get stuck. We stay on the bridge too long—never arriving at a place where we can experience change, and feel safe again. We get overwhelmed, and disoriented. It becomes hard for us to see how truly angry we are. Sometimes—by the time we even realize we’re angry, we’re already in trouble.

Are you in trouble? Are you being forced to take anger management classes to keep your freedom, or something else you cherish? Or are you just curious and self-motivated—looking for ways to improve, and be the best version of yourself? Either way, we can all benefit by developing effective anger management skills.

MadLessons.com is a portal for people who want to develop and deepen these skills, and become more effective when they feel provoked.

The Facilitator

Billy Ross has a bachelor’s in Human Services from Cal State Fullerton—and a rich background in community outreach, group facilitation, parent education and anger management. A dynamic public speaker, entrepreneur and real estate broker, he also runs a boutique brokerage—helping individuals, investors and organizations handle real estate in the Inland Empire and Greater Los Angeles.

“My background in Human Services, and experience in business, gives me special insight into how anger works. I can’t tell you how many times in real estate I’ve helped clients navigate high-pressure situations, where unchecked anger could have ruined a good thing. Like, we feel slighted or disrespected during a transaction, and we get angry! Our instinct is to save face. But if saving face keeps us from getting what we really want, like buying a great property at a good price, that’s a problem.”

With MadLessons, Billy is offering a different approach to anger management.

“Too often anger management services look like boring classes people have to take as punishment for doing something wrong. Also, service providers tend to treat anger as a personal, cognitive problem that can be effectively addressed with more information.

But anger is a whole, mind-body reaction. It’s also a natural force, meant to prepare us for action. It’s there to help us make change in our environment, and in ourselves. So my goal isn’t to help people get rid of their anger instinct, or to ‘talk’ it away. I want to help people master and channel it for something good.”

“Anger isn’t the problem. It’s what we do with anger that creates a problem. In other words, if we want something different, we have to do something different. I’m here to help motivated people do something different, and be more effective—especially when they feel provoked.”
